Gregory J. Alexander is the proprietor of a freelance writing and editing company, Pen & Ink, LLC, and has been published in the Baltimore Sun, the Washington Post, Maryland Family, Baltimore Banner, WHERE Magazine, The Daily Record, the Washington Blade, Destination Maryland, among others. He is also a travel writer who has written on such destinations as Thailand, Cambodia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong and more.
He is also the freelance editor of the Baltimore Sun's special sections department, and content marketing writer for Erickson Senior Living, Dorchester County Tourism, Howard County Tourism, Helping Up Mission, among others. In 2023, he joined the team at LittleRuth.com as the freelance lead consultant for editorial. He has conducted editorial duties for a variety of corporations and non-profits – brochures, white papers, project management, ghostwriting blogs and newsletters.
From 2011-2022, Greg was the Executive Editor of I95 BUSINESS magazine, a role he conceived upon the magazine’s inception in 2011. In this role, he decided storylines for each issue, interviewed the cover subject, assigned and managed the freelance schedule, communicated and managed production of all content, worked closely with the art director, including photo selection and writing captions, and ensured each issue adhered to production deadlines.He is the co-author of six history books on the Washington, D.C., neighborhoods of Capitol Hill, Woodley Park and Southwest DC, Charles Village in Baltimore, and the famed Wardman Park Hotel, as well as a coffee table book called Lost Baltimore.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in newspaper journalism from the University of Georgia, and completed the verified certificate from Google on the Fundamentals of Digital Marketing.
In his spare time, he enjoys learning the ropes on his 47-foot sailboat, which is docked in Baltimore. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his husband and two cats.
